OTTAWA – Ottawa City Council announced that the Ferracuti mansion on Columbus Street will be annexed into the city and used as a group home for unwed mothers. Jim Downey and Janis Ferracuti, widow of lawyer Peter Ferracutti who died October of 2017, reached an agreement with the city that the housing of the mansion will house unwed mothers in the area to help them learn various life and job skills. The grounds of the mansion will be used for recreational purposes.
