Family of Ladd build overcomes adversity, making a better life for their daughters

Heath family
LADD – The young family of four that has been chosen for The LaSalle, Bureau, and Putnam County Habitat for Humanity Ladd build knows what it’s like to fall on hard times. 25-year-old Kayla Heath was homeless for years and even overcame an abusive relationship before meeting her husband Justin. Now, she and her little family from Seneca will be given the opportunity at a better life. Heath says it’s a story she can tell her daughters Hazel and newborn Evelyn.

Kayla and Justin, who lost his father at an early age, say their number one goal is to raise a family in a stable home. With immense help from the community and Habitat for Humanity, the family is able to live their best life. The Ladd house project is located on South Iowa Street.
