LASALLE – Two bridges were built for LaSalle’s Rotary Park, as part of a Peru man’s Eagle Scout project. 18-year-old Cooper Vaske, of Eagle Scout Group #123, presented his project to the LaSalle’s City Council on Monday night. With the help of community donations and helping hands, Vaske built two bridges that would lead to an area where the proposed disc golf course will be. Vaske says the idea to do the project at Rotary Park stemmed from his love for disc golf and the desire to  base his work at the park his father helped create, Rotary Park Foundation Treasurer, Chris Vaske. City Engineer Brian Brown says the area will be called Prarie Park and the bridges will allow disc golfers to cross some deep ravines for years to come. The overall cost of the project was $1400 however Brown says the city received up to $10,000 of materials through various donations.
