OTTAWA – As his last duty of Commissioner for Streets and Public Improvements, James J. Less approved to advertise bids for the 2019 curb replacement project. Main areas that will undergo concrete work are East Stevenson Road, the Turnberry Subdivision, Wake Street, Nebraska Street, Post Street, Boyce Memorial Drive, East Lafayette Street and Chambers Street. Less says the curb replacements will be ADA compliant and feature a tactile warning strip intended to alert visually impaired and blind pedestrians before crossing the street. Newly elected Marla Rodriguez is the new Commissioner of Streets and Public Improvements. James J. Less is now the Commissioner for Public Health and Safety.
