Deer harvest up from 2021 across Illinois

SPRINGFIELD -– Hunters in Illinois harvested over 52,000 deer during the first weekend of the state’s firearm deer season. According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, LaSalle County hunters took home 427 deer, up from last year. Livingston and Bureau County hunters took home less this year with Bureau recording 609 deer harvested and Livingston, 268. As a whole, Illinois hunters took home more deer compared to last year when hunters took nearly 49,000 deer. Illinois’ seven-day firearm deer season will conclude December 1st through the 4th.
