SPRINGFIELD – County unemployment rates dipped during the month of April according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security. While LaSalle County remains the highest in unemployment rates locally, numbers have dipped in the past month from 7.3% to 6.4%. Putnam and Bureau County rates have also seen a decrease now averaging between 5.1 and 5.4%. Statewide unemployment rates have remained at a steady 7.1%.
