Council member Tara Bedei will be Streator’s new mayor

 
STREATOR – Longtime Streator City Council Member Tara Bedei will be sworn in as Streator’s acting mayor next week. The council approved the appointment at a special meeting on Tuesday night. Bedei has been a member of council since 2013. Bedei is apart of two boards of directors committees, and six volunteer committees, along with her full time job at Streator Dependable. She is also a mother to an infant baby. Her appointment will be active until the April 2023 election. The mayor’s seat and a few council seats will be up for election.
