Car driving through construction zone goes airborne on interstate


 
CHAMPAIGN – A car with three occupants inside went airborne and landed on the interstate in Champaign on Tuesday. According to Illinois State Police, just after 1 p.m. a vehicle traveling eastbound on Bradley Avenue allegedly drove through the intersection at Bluegrass Lane into a closed construction zone. The driver reportedly left the roadway and went airborne landing on the right shoulder of Interstate 57. The driver and both passengers were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
