OTTAWA – A father and son were arrested over the weekend after allegedly jumping into the Buffalo Rock Park Bison pen. According to Conservation Police Sergeant Phil Wire, a 47-year-old Kewanee man was keeping watch when his son, a 28-year-old from Canton, jumped into the pen with the two bison. Park employees witnessed it happen on Saturday afternoon and contacted authorities. Its not uncommon that folks try their luck in the bison pen. Wire says conservation police get similar reports annually. Buffalo Rock’s new Bison Cocoa that arrived in December is not as docile as 14-year-old Pebbles, according to Wire, and the pen jumper is lucky to have not gotten injured.
