Canna-preneur wants to start dispensary and social club in LaSalle and Spring Valley

By: freeimage4life

SPRING VALLEY – Spring Valley will allow recreational marijuana dispensaries to operate in the city, come January. Andrew Martinez, a business owner, attended the Monday meeting and is moving forward with his plans after hearing the news. Martinez wants to build a social club where patrons can BYOW, bring your own weed. The business entrepreneur who owns a bar in Peru, petitioned in LaSalle that same night for a marijuana dispensary that would be located on First Street. The city of LaSalle referred the request to the planning commission to make a recommendation. Martinez’s plans are all pending the issuance of a license from the state.
LASALLE – A local business owner will have to refile with the city of LaSalle to be considered for a special use permit to operate a recreational cannabis dispensary.
Andrew Martinez, owner of Drewski’s in Peru, will be given another chance to compel council toward allowing a recreational marijuana business in the city’s downtown. An ordinance granting Martinez a special use permit, was on Tuesday night’s agenda, however alderman and Mayor Grove felt he lacked a business plan to present to the city.
