Bus Crash in Snow Kills a Pedestrian

DECATUR – One person was killed downstate when a bus lost control and struck a motorist who previously had slid off a snowy interstate.  State Police say a 63-year-old Springfield woman exited her car after her car, and two other vehicles, had all slid into the median on I-72 Saturday night near Decatur.  A charter bus, driven by a 61 year old Decatur man,  also lost control on the snow and ice covered roadway and entered the median, went through a guardrail, and struck the woman.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the bus driver and his 27 passengers were not injured, but the bus driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
