SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 715 new cases of COVID-19 including 16 additional deaths. This brings the total number of cases to 7,695 and 157 deaths. Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngazi Ezike says approximately 85% of deaths are among those 60 or order, but that doesn’t mean it’s a death sentence. Ezike says she just recently spoke to the 3rd and 4th cases, a couple in their 70s and both are said to be doing great and happy to share the news. As previously stated, Ezike stresses no age is immune to contracting the virus.
