SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Friday announced 3,137 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 105 additional deaths. The IDPH said that 4,900 patients are in the hospital, with 1,263 being treated in intensive care units and 777 of those on ventilators.
Since the pandemic began, a total of 56,055 cases have been found, including 2,457 deaths in 97 counties in Illinois. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have processed 14,821 specimens for a total of 284,688 tests.
