Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for June 8th:
When 18-year-old Antonio Gwynn Jr. saw the damage and debris left over from the protests in his hometown of Buffalo, New York, he had an idea. He got up at 2 a.m. last Monday and didn’t stop cleaning for ten hours.
When the community got word of his actions, they were floored and responded in ways even beyond Gwynn’s imagination. A local Buffalo man gifted Gwynn his prized 2004 red Mustang convertible — serendipitous too because that was the car his mother drove before she passed away in 2018. Local businessman Bob Briceland pitched in and gave Gwynn a free year of auto insurance too.
“I just felt compelled to help him out. We just need to get together our whole city and show people how there’s so many good people here,” Briceland told CNN affiliate WKBW.
Gwynn was planning on going to a trade school now that he finished high school, but Medaille College in Buffalo offered him a full scholarship. He now plans to study business starting this fall.
Tip of the cap to Gwynn not only for his noble contributions to cleanup his city, but also help out his community in a profound, selfless way!
